Outstanding ride and handling is the result of a sophisticated arrangement of an independent SLA front suspension with a high upper “A” arm, coil springs over gas-charged monotube shock absorbers and stabilizer bar, as well as lateral and diagonal lower links with dual ball joint knuckles. A Class-Exclusive rear five-link independent suspension is combined with coil springs, gas-charged monotube shock absorbers, stabilizer bar and an isolated suspension cradle. Standard on the Challenger SRT® 392 and SRT Hellcat is the largest front-brake system ever offered in any FCA US vehicle, featuring 390-mm (15.4-inch) Brembo two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers for outstanding heat management, thermal capacity and longevity.
With four-piston Brembo calipers at each corner and 14.2-inch (front) and 13.8-inch (rear) vented/slotted rotors, the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack and 392 HEMI® Scat Pack SHAKER deliver world-class stopping power – enabling a braking distance of 60-0 mph in 117 feet. Improved brake cooling and fade performance come courtesy of wind tunnel-designed brake cooling ducts that direct airflow to the vented rotors for confident, controlled braking in almost any condition.
This four-wheel antilock brake system (ABS) is tied together with all-speed traction control (ASTC), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and brake assist. The sport brake system features 12.6-inch front and rear vented rotors and comes standard on V6 engine-equipped models.
This system improves brake performance through an increase in the front rotors' size (to 13.6 inches) and dual piston front sliding calipers. For the Super Track Pak option, performance brake linings are added for reduced brake fade under heavy braking conditions.
